TPC-642 - Operator Interface Terminal Unveiled--Advantech Windows ® CE Terminal At The Head Of The Line

Combining the expertise of fast and flexible hardware design as well as close cooperation with Microsoft, Advantech released a cost-effective operator interface terminal, the TPC-642 with a Windows ® CE 3.0 operating system.

As a standard product, the TPC-642 provides an operator interface with built-in Windows CE 3.0 OS, Windows CE software development kit (SDK) for the TPC-642 and null modem cable. These are simply all a system integrator needs to establish a specific application program runtime on the TPC-642.

The TPC-642 is integrates an Intel StrongARM 1110 RISC kernel, 5.7" STN LCD display of one quarter VGA (320x240) resolution, 32MB DRAM on board and a resistive touchscreen. Operating at 206MHz, the StrongARM 1110 provides 235 Dhrystone and 2.1 MIPS service with 400mW power consumption only. This makes the TPC-642 a fan-less small-sized operator interface with satisfactory performance.

The TPC-642 weighs as amazing as 0.8kg (1.76 lbs). Its thickness is only 40mm (1.57"). Nevertheless, the TPC-642 is still so robust that its front bezel can comply with NEMA4/IP65 requirements. The lightweight and compact form factor facilitates installation in limited room space.
