The One Card Intelligent Self-Diagnostic System Advantech PCL-752 Intelligent System Monitoring Card

Stability and self-diagnostic function always have been crucial factors in automation - especially when it comes to automating communication and monitoring systems.

With this in mind, Advantech recently introduced the PCL-752, the Intelligent System Monitoring Card. It efficiently detects abnormal system operations and generates various forms of alarm outputs, which allow users to take effective actions before system failure. With this card, users can also transform their industrial PC into an intelligent, self-diagnostic system, thus enhancing PC reliability for any critical application.

Powerful Detection and Alarm Functions

The PCL-752 is able to detect a wide variety of system conditions: internal temperature, voltage, fan operation, status of power supply, and system CPU operation. The on-board CPU allows users to program different levels and types of alarm for each sensory input. According to the feedback of the detection, the PCL-752 can generate different alarm outputs: acoustic signals, system reset, relay output, and message generation, depending on users' programming.

High Reliability

The PCL-752 features a built-in watch-dog timer, which is the best assurance of card reliability. Digital input channels are isolated (up to 2000VDC) to prevent high voltage input, and the on-board battery backup enables the PCL-752 to continue its full functions even during power failures.

Remote Monitoring

Users can remotely monitor a number of computers by connecting them to a host computer's serial port. The serial port of the PCL-752 can be configured either as an RS-485 port (communication distance up to 4000 feet) or as an RS-232 port.

System Software Support for More Powerful Performance

Besides all the hardware functions, the PCL-752 is bundled with PC Sentry utility software, empowering hardware performance. The PC Sentry Utility can be operated under Windows 95/NT, allowing a system host to communicate through the RS-232 with one or more PCL-752 units for functions such as configuration, alarm level setting, real-time status display, alarm event logging, etc. The built-in DLL driver facilitates programming for users who want to integrate the alarm functions in their own application software under Windows 95/98/NT.
