A Rugged New PCI-bus Relay Card: A PCI-1762 Overview

Advantech is pleased to announce the newest PCI-bus 16-channel relay actuator and 16-channel isolated D/I card. The PCI-1762 card provides sixteen electromechanical SPDT relays and sixteen optically-isolated digital inputs on a half-size card. This makes it ideal for applications such as device on/off control or low power switching. With a red LED next to each relay showing its on/off status, the PCI-1762’s sixteen optically-isolated D/I channels are also ideal for digital input in noisy environments or with floating potentials.

Rugged Protection
The PCI-1762 digital input channels feature a rugged isolation protection for industrial, lab and machinery automation applications. It comfortably withstands voltage up to 2,500 V DC, preventing your host system from any incidental harm. If connected to an external input source with surge-protection, the PCI-1762 can offer up to a maximum of 2,000 V DC ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protection. Even with an input voltage rising up to 70 V DC , the PCI-1762 can still manage to work properly for a brief period.

Wide Input Range
The PCI-1762 has a wide range of input voltage from 10 to 50 V DC , and it is suitable for most industrial applications with 12 V DC , 24 V DC and 48 V DC input voltages.

Reset Protection
When the system has undergone a hot reset (i.e. without turning off the system power), the PCI-1762 can either retain output values of each channel, or return to its default configuration under open status depending on its on-board jumper setting. This function protects the system from erroneous operations during unexpected system resets.
