Based on the new Intel® Xeon® processor Scalable family, the FWA-6170 high-end network appliance has been designed for maximum performance, scalability and functionality in a 2U rack mount footprint. Equipped with a choice of CPUs from the Intel® Xeon® Platinum and Gold processors, this high-end network communications appliance is optimized for computing power, accelerated workloads and high speed, high density I/O with best-in-class energy efficiency.
Based on the new Intel® Xeon® processor Scalable family, the SKY-8201 is a highly configurable high performance server designed to balance the best in server-class processing with maximum I/O and offload density in a 20" depth chassis. The system is a cost effective, robust platform optimized for high reliability in network, edge and industrial computing. It is specifically designed for high density PCIe card payloads where maximum I/O connectivity is needed or the integration of industry leading offload and acceleration technology is essential.
NMCs are cost-optimized, high density IO modules for use in Advantech’s Network Application Platforms. A wide choice of GbE, 10GbE, 40GbE and 100GbE modules supporting copper and fiber interfaces with or without advanced LAN bypass gives integrators the flexibility to match varying deployment scenarios.
Complementing a full range of network appliances supporting 1 to 8 NMC bays, these IO modules provide the scalability required to meet target price/performance ratios in even the most demanding use cases. At the same time, NMCs reduce the total cost of ownership and service cost via re-usability across the product range and multiple product generations. The option of factory and field installation enables upselling opportunities and "pay as you grow" concepts.
Leveraging best-in-class Intel® Ethernet controller technology, NMCs provide a "plug-and-play" style user experience and offer a maximum of software compatibility with readily available drivers and sofware libraries.
Advantech NMC-4006 Dual 40GbE PMCs were used to certify Intel® Select Solution for NFVI on the FWA-6170.
Leveraging server-class Intel Ethernet controllers, Advantech Network Interface Cards give access to 1GbE, 10GbE and 40GbE interfaces with industrial life cycle and life cycle management. In addition, our dual or single Intel® QuickAssist acceleration cards can supplement the CPU throughput for the termination of standard security protocols such as IPsec and SSL.
Advantech PCIE-2320 dual 40GbE adapters were used to verify Intel® Select Solution for NFVI on the SKY-8201.
Advantech RES offers a remote evaluation framework that brings together members of the Intel® Network Builders community designing next generation networking architectures based on white box servers. It provides an infrastructure where developers can openly collaborate using a range of platforms scaling from several to several hundred cores.
With RES, developers can get ahead of the curve and begin to test different NFV Infrastructures on platforms destined for deployment at specific network locations: closer to the subscriber in the access network, mobile edge and in customer premises (uCPE) as well as in the network core and in telecom data centers.
Developers seeking to rapidly evaluate Intel Select Solutions for NFVI from Advantech can gain fast and easy access with simple and secure connectivity to pre-configured platform builds. By testing Intel Select Solutions using RES, service providers can develop and apply new technology sooner to accelerate next generation product rollouts.
