Advantech’s latest white box servers and network appliances, now powered by 1st, 2nd and now Enhanced 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors will allow Communication Service Providers (CommSPs) to capitalize the benefits of higher packet processing throughput and increased virtual machine density across a fully scalable product line with more processor cores and higher base frequencies.

8 Advantech platforms offering from 60 to 400 Gbps throughput have been verified with 2nd generation processors. The SKY-8101D and FWA-5070 have been verified with enhanced 2nd generation processors prior to Intel’s launch on Feb 24, 2020 . The remaining platforms will be fully verified and released by the end of 1Q2020. The upgraded platforms enable more compute per packet making them ideal replacements in the transformation of proprietary appliances, routers and gateways to open programmable off-the-shelf models based on Intel architecture.

When deployed as virtual network elements the combined hardware and software solutions provides the functionality of legacy, fixed-function appliances with more flexibility and lower cost. Click here to read the full press release.
