Advantech Hosts World Partner Conference on Theme of “Transforming Technologies into Intelligence”
Advantech held its annual World Partner Conference (WPC) in Taipei in late October on the topic of “Enabling an Intelligent Planet”. The event showcased the embedded computing solutions provider's dedication to strengthening ties with its global partners as well as its commitment to staying ahead of trends in the “intelligent planet” era.
The three-day conference, which was held on October 27th to 29th, attracted record high attendees from 47 countries. The conference covered the following topics: Automation, Digital Healthcare, Intelligent Services, Digital Logistics, Industrial Communications, Machine Automation, Green Energy, Intelligent Buildings, and Advantech iPlanet.Online. A special focus of the conference was how businesses must adapt to the advent of the “Internet of Things” (IoT) and to prosper in the Intelligent Planet Era.
‘In response to this global shift, Advantech developed the slogan: “Enabling an Intelligent Planet” as a long term mission statement to face the new IoT trend with confidence and maintain its leading position,’ said Advantech CEO KC Liu. “Furthermore, another industry trend known as “Intelligent Services” has been growing. It is flourishing in many vertical markets and will enable infinite possibilities in many new areas including the intelligent city, medical care, retail, transportation, logistics, and smart building automation. Right now, many mature technologies are in place and sufficient to support the basic needs of the market. So, how to transform theses technologies into intelligence and integrate these solutions will be Advantechs's most important goal to empower systems integrators in enabling an intelligent planet.”
The conference also successfully delivered Advantech's ambition and vision to its partners. “Experiencing WPC 2011 provided a clear vision of where Advantech is headed in the future and more importantly what we must do to ride the wave of success along with them! The hospitality and welcoming good nature and spirit of their team were infectious. Riding through their hometown with their senior management capped off a supreme educational program. In short, great fun, new friends and a valuable experience”, said Robert Elder, CEO of Ontor Limited.
Advantech's World Partner Conference originates back to 1990, when Advantech began working closely with its partners to learn about their business and find ways to help them overcome challenges in the market. The event then grew from regional distributor meetings into a global interactive experience. The WPC was officially launched in 2003 as the premier event to discuss, deliver, and demonstrate new technologies that will have the greatest global impact. The next WPC will be held in 2013.
