The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech introduces a new release of WebAccess HMI & SCADA software, WebAccess version 7.0. WebAccess is web browser-based software for HMI and SCADA applications successfully utilized in many industrial applications around the world, including Facility Monitoring, Building Automation, Factory Automation, Process Control, Manufacturing, Machine Automation, Power & Energy and Semiconductor industries.
WebAccess is the world’s first automation software to utilize a web browser for both development and run-time. Its architecture consists of three parts: Project Nodes (the development platform, web server and central database server), SCADA Nodes (the data acquisition and supervisory control nodes which connect with field hardware and serve live data to clients and the project node), and Web Browser Clients (to remotely view and control, with graphical animation and live video). With a web browser, you can create, configure, and manage projects, then view and control in real-time, remotely via an intranet or the Internet. WebAccess also supports Thin Clients allowing the use of mobile devices.
WebAccess 7.0 has many new features including:
- The SCADA node works as both an OPC Server and OPC client.
- Dynamic Device Network Service (DDNS) finds dynamic IP devices.
- Expanded OS compatibility includes Microsoft Windows 7.0 and Vista.
- Expanded browser compatibility includes IE 6.0, IE 7.0 & IE 8.0.
- User-defined DLLs integrate with WebAccess View clients to provide custom dialog boxes.
- Building Energy Monitoring System (optional).
- Classroom Scheduler supports up to 16 class periods per day (optional).
- Demand Control (Load Shedding) turns off loads to limit energy usage (optional).
