Advantech Launches a New Small Form Factor UNO-2272G for Space Limited Applications

Advantech’s Industrial Automation Group (IAG) are pleased to announce the launch of a new UNO model designed to work in the tightest of spaces and as a dedicated Internet of Things Gateway.

The UNO-2272G is Advantech’s smallest UNO model yet and by using the low power consuming Intel Atom processor the UNO-2272G continues to offer the power and functionality that you require.

The UNO-2272G has a choice of mounting options with both DIN-rail and VESA mounting options available and because of its lightweight design it can be secured to the rear of Advantech’s range of flat panel monitors.

It’s also available to accept the full range of Advantech iDoor Technology modules which expand the functionality of Advantech devices. Modules for iDoor systems include: Fieldbus protocols such as Profibus, Profinet, EtherCAT and Powerlink;memory expansion and storage with BackupMRAM, Cfast/Compact Flash and SD/mSD; digital and analog I/O such as multi-function, analog IO, digital IO & counter; smart sensors such as Smart Meter, Pressure Sensor, temperature sensor and light sensor; and communication such as GPS, 3G, LTE, Wi-FI, GPS, GPRS, ZigBee, RFID, Bluetooth and LTE. Currently seven modules are available with more coming soon.

In order to act as a gateway, the UNO-2272G is designed to communicate with manufacturing equipment and send data to cloud services. But before they do that the UNO-2272G filters and aggregates the data and reduces the load on the cloud CPU. As an intelligent gateway device the UNO-2272G reduces latency by detecting and responding to issues before they happen and allows customers to capture data and get value from the sensors without needing to send data to the cloud.

The UNO-2272G also comes withthe latest Intel® Atom™ Processors up to 1.86GHz with 2GB DDR3LMemory and one GbE port , three USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232 port, one VGA port and one Audio port.
