Advantech Introduces 10.4” EN50155 Compliant Panel Computer for the Railway Industry

Advantech a global embedded computing leader providing embedded platform solutions across multiple vertical markets, today launched a pair of 4U industrial chassis, ACP-4340 and ACP-4020, featuring new stylish short-depth design that represent a breakthrough from the traditional line of industrial PCs, and means that the system integrators can fit it into the equipment more easily. Also, comes with ACP-4020, Advantech introduces the industry-leading 12-slot backplane PCE-3B12-08 and 13-slot backplane PCE-4B13-08. These combinations provide users with intelligent, high-performance operating platforms that can serve as controllers of machines/equipment, NVR/DVR servers for video surveillance applications and SCADA (SupervisoryControl And Data Acquisition) servers for factory automation, BEMS and so on.

Flexibility, Intelligent Industrial Chassis in Short-depth
ACP-4340, with only478mm in depth, supports versatile ATX and Micro ATX motherboards, and also supports full-size SHB/SBC. ACP-4020, with even 25% shorter than ACP-4340 (350mm in total), supports versatile ATX and Micro ATX motherboards, and also supports half-size SHB/SBC. Both models support a highly efficient switching power supply, and they all include easy-to-maintain cooling fans and dual front USB 3.0 ports. ACP-4340 provides four hot-swap 2.5”/3.5” SAS/SATA HDD trays and one internal 2.5” drive bay, while ACP-4020 provides two 3.5” front-accessible and one 2.5” internal drive bays. With optional HDD mobile rack IDT-3120E,the two front-accessible 3.5” drive bays can be converted to two or even four 2.5” SATA HDD trays, which offer flexible options for data storage. Other data storage choices include one slim-type drive bay for an optical disk drive. The Intelligent System Module (an unique alarm board) monitors system status such as voltages, temperature, fan speed, to maximize system uptime. Fan speed is controlled according to chassis internal temperature, optimizing system power consumption and minimizing noise. A wide range of standard computing peripherals can be integrated with these chassis to accommodate robust, 24/7 applications in rugged environments.

Built in Advantech Intelligent System Module
With intelligent firmware of embedded code built in, the Intelligent System Module can diagnose real-time system status, including system fan, temperature, and voltage. Based on the information from monitoring, the Intelligent System Module could automatically adjust fan speed according to the system/CPU temperature. Realize the optimization between system performance and audible noise. When Advantech SUSIAccess 2.1 utility is installed, the system can be remote monitored, controlled and actively send out alarm messages when error happens, this minimizes system downtime and troubleshooting for efficient management.

The Only Backplane for Short-depth Chassis with PCIe x16/x8 in Industry PCE-3B12-08 and PCE-4B13-08 backplanes are designed to fit in short-depth rack mount chassis such as ACP-4020. Both models support comprehensive expansion slots, including up to four PCIe and eight PCI expansion slots, satisfying all the mainstream applications. They are the only backplanes in the industry for short-depth chassis with PCIe Gen3 x16/x8, providing more bandwidth and processing performance to half-size single board computers.
