Advantech Launches Four New Enhanced PCI Express 8-port Serial Communication Cards
To keep ahead of trends within the automation industry, the Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has launched a new range of eight port serial communication cards that use the PCI Express interface, giving it a faster data transfer rate than standard PCI cards and comes with direct memory access and surge and EFT protection.
With Direct Memory Access (DMA) the card reduces CPU loading, by allowing the processor to continue its tasks while the data transfer is in progress, thereby making the whole system more efficient. To protect the card against electrical surges, which can destroy its components, it comes with surge and EFT protection. Finally, the serial input speed of the card reaches up to 921.6kbps with support for any baud rate and can be manually configured by the user to meet their own needs. Cards with RS-485 also provide Automatic Direction Control for enhanced data transmission.
All of these features plus the five year warranty ensure that these new PCI Express cards give users even greater confidence in using them for their industrial applications.
The range includes the following models: PCIE-1620A, PCIE-1620B, PCIE-1622A, and PCIE-1622B
