Advantech Introduces New 3.5” and 5.7” Automation Control Panels with Industry First FRAM Chip
- TPC-31T/61T
Ideal for use in machine and factory automation environments, Advantech’s Industrial Automation Group launches two new thin-client devices. The new slim 3.5” TPC-31T (26.5mm) and the slightly deeper 5.7” TPC-61T (44.4mm) are Texas Instruments Cortex-A8 RISC processor based touch panel PC’s and include: an industry first 1Mbit FRAM chip plus one serial port and one 10/100 BaseT Ethernet port as well as having the operating system installed on a micro-SD card.
Unique to the industry, the 31T and 61T models include a 1Mbit FRAM chip that allows customers to make changes directly to the system configuration through the devices through their integrated serial ports. The FRAM chip is of particular interest since the data can still be written and automatically saved without the device needing to be on.
Both models are pre-installed with the Microsoft Windows CE operating system integrated on a micro SD card. The use of an SD card, instead of a soldered EPROM, makes maintenance easier and reduces downtime since an Advantech engineer can replace the SD card onsite instead of having to send the machine away for repairs.
The 3.5” and 5.7” models are available from the middle of September.
