Advantech Releases New 16-port Gigabit Industrial Ethernet Switch

Taipei, Taiwan - Advantech's Industrial Automation Group has released EKI-7626C, an 16-port industrial Ethernet switch with 2 Gigabit fiber optic/ copper combo ports. EKI-7626C also comes with an IP30 metal housing and has 3000 VDC surge protection for the power line, plus 4000 VDC ESD protection on the Ethernet ports. The EKI-7626C is a robust Ethernet switch that can handle heavy loading, even in harsh industrial environments.

This large-scale switch has 16 fast Ethernet ports available for connecting up to 16 devices to the Ethernet through simple plug-and-play. With the 2 gigabit fiber optic/copper combo ports, EKI-7626C provides a wide and long-distance uplink that transmits important data up to 110km at gigabit speeds.

EKI-7626C supports SFP connectors (Small Form-factor Pluggable), also known as mini-GBIC. By swapping out different SFP's, system engineers can enjoy great flexibility in designing the network architecture, especially when multiple different optical technologies are in use, or when there is future expansion of the network. This lowers the cost of the base system on purchasing and maintenance, and provides engineers more room in design.

SFP transceivers are also available from Advantech's eAutomation Group. Selections cover different distances, and support: 550m (Multi mode) and 30km (Single mode) for 100Base-FX, and 550m (SX), 10km-40km (LX), 50km (XD), 70 km (ZX) and 110km (EZX) for 1000Base.
