Six Industrial Isolated Serial Ports Featured on Advantech's New Embedded Box PC

Taipei, Taiwan - The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has introduced a versatile new Embedded Box PC, the UNO-2176. This model comes with a Pentium M 1.4GHz or Celeron M 1GHz CPU, and features a fanless, cabless & diskless design with six serial ports (4 x jumper-configurable, isolated & surge-protected RS-232/422/485 with 128KB hardware FIFO and 2 x RS-232 serial ports). Moreover, UNO-2176 also provides 16 x isolated DI/O and a PC/104 extension bus. And with its wide operating temperature (Up to 65° C), this compact & powerful new module combines ruggedness with performance and strong driver support, making it suitable for any industrial application.

UNO-2176 is an X86 platform with Pentium M 1.4GHz or Celeron M 1GHz CPU and 512MB DDR RAM with many ingenious industrial features. Combined with Advantech's superior fanless design, UNO-2176 provides excellent and reliable performance even under extremely high temperatures (Celeron M up to 65° C, Pentium M 1.4G up to 60° C). Furthermore, the UNO-2176's serial ports and DI/O feature advanced surge protection and optical isolation technology to protect your equipment against high-voltage damage and harsh environmental conditions.

With strong driver support, users can easily develop applications on Windows 2000/XP, Linux or Embedded OS such as Windows CE 5.0, Windows XP Embedded and Embedded Linux. An application ready platform bundling Window XPe (SP2), a WinCE5.0 image and industrial CF card are also available.
