Advantech Introduces 10.4” EN50155 Compliant Panel Computer for the Railway Industry

Designed for use in the extreme conditions of the world’s railways. Advantech has launched a new panel computer to help drivers stay informed of the status of their train.

The TPC-8100TR is a 10.4” touch panel computer designed specifically for use on railway systems. It is compliant with EN50155/T3 ensuring that it meets specific shock and vibration requirements necessary for use in rolling stock.

To ensure that moisture and water don’t affect the TPC-8100TR, the outside casing has been built it to IP65 certification and comes with water proof M12 connectors and the screen has been optically bonded. Internally the boards and other components have been coated with Conformal to ensure that moisture won’t affect them.

So that it can connect easily to existing train components Advantech has included a comprehensive range of ports with Ethernet, serial and USB interfaces and a CFast module. The power supply has a 10ms interruption, conforming to EN50155,S2, to protect it against over/short electrical currents.
