Advantech Introduces the New HPC-7280 2U Server-grade IPC Chassis
Fulfilling Multiple Configuration Needs for Industrial Applications

Advantech, the leading embedded platform and integration services provider, has developed a new HPC-7280 2U rugged rackmount server chassis. It supports multiple configurations, has long-term availability support, and can fulfill a varietyof customer application needs. HPC-7280 is compatible with different form factors, has a redundant power supply design, hot-swap SATA/SAS hard drives, and cooling fans that deliver 24/7 non-stop operation. The system is designed specifically for high growth sectors in the market including: database, firewall/networking, computationally intense (AOI), and storage intense (IP CAM, NVR/DVR surveillance, FA/MA managed) applications. These configurations are supported by Advantech’s CTOS (Configure-To-Order-Service) in regional sites located near customers.

Advantech Server-grade IPC Family’s First 2U Chassis
HPC-7280, launched in May, is a 2U rackmount chassis fitting a variety ofform factors ranging from ATX, to CEB, to EATX. It features eight 3.5” SAS/SATA hot-swap hard drive cages with a maximum capacity of 16 TB; even more storage is available with optionally installed internal 3.5” and 2.5” drives (two each). HPC-7280 has an 800 W (1+1) redundant power supply and a power distribution board that optimizes power efficiency; and it supports three hot-swap 8038 fan modules and an optional riser card. It not only has a neat and tidy appearance, but its mechanical design is rugged and practical for industrial needs. HPC-7280 can be secured by a front-bezel lock, preventing unauthorized access during normal operations. Also, there is one USB port and one slim ODD bay on the front, as well as LED indicators to monitor LAN, power and HDD status.

The expansion slots on HPC-7280 are also impressive with three full-height/full-length boards available through riser cards. Customers have the flexibility to select two PCI-X and one PCIe x8 riser slot cards, or six low profile PCIe expansion cards for higher speed connectivity, or traditional basic I/O cards, depending on application requirements.

All Advantech server-grade IPC products including HPC-7280 meet critical environmental test criteria, co-validation metrics during key stages in customer development, strict revision control, and long life component supply. Advantech is the first and only embedded platform provider in the world offering3-5-7 service: a long-term commitment to customers to provide three levels of service, five years of extended warranty, and seven years of product supply. If a customer has any system issue, three levels of service mean that Advantech will provide a dedicated professional AE for first level troubleshooting, strict revision control and replacement parts for second level service, and flexible BIOS or mechanical customization support for a third level of expert support.
