Advantech Launches 2-port CAN-bus PCI-104

Taipei, Taiwan – May, 2010 – The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has launched the PCM-3680I, a 2-port CAN-bus PCI-104 module with isolation protection. PCM-3680I is designed for connecting control units and transmissions in automation applications. CAN enables real-time data transmission and error detection; and even when errors accidentally occur, CAN networks will automatically repeat transmissions, drastically reducing data loss and providing higher levels of security. Furthermore, PCM-3680I features an optical isolation protection of 2500 VDC which greatly ensures system reliability by protecting data against damage.

PCM-3680I comes with standard PCI-104 interface that makes it a desirable solution even under imperfect circumstances, such as the presence of shock or vibration. Compared with other methods of connection, a stackable design offers PCM-3680I more reliable connections with other PC/104 modules. Besides seamless connections, PCI-104 interface helps PCM-3680I increase the convenience of function extension.
