Distributed Master Motion Control Module
for Advantech PAC's

Taiwan - June, 2008 - Advantech's
Industrial Automation Group introduces
a 2-port AMONet master motion control
module, ADAM-5202, which is compatible
with Advantech's high-speed real-time
motion network interface, AMONet. The
ADAM-5202 is the first distributed motion
control module designed for use with ADAM-5550
Series PAC's (Programmable Automation
Controllers). With this master motion
control module, Advantech's PAC series
becomes a complete system for handling
versatile automation applications, especially
for distributed motion control, suitable
for high-end factory and machine automation
tasks.
Equipped
with 2 master rings, the ADAM-5202 can
connect with up to 2048 I/O points and
64 axes for a versatile and long distance
motion control application. The master
ring can support up to 20 Mbps transfer
rate and a maximum communication distance
of up to 100 meters. With an advantage
of distributed motion control, ADAM-5202
communicates between master and slave
is based on a customized RS-485 solution
that saves wires, covers a long distance,
supports high-speed communication and
has time-deterministic features. Instead
of the complexity wiring and costs, ADAM-5202
can through a distributed AMONet, user
can connect to different device with a
simple RJ-45 wire. The master collects
information from slave modules and publishes
the information to its host PC. It also
allow user to do an external expansion,
like motion control in a short time. Without
disassembly the case or change a complex
wiring, customers can get a convenient
expansion.
Furthermore,
ADAM-5202 also provides various accessories
of wiring modules (see below) to support
multi-brand motors, to avoid damage caused
by incompatible motor connectivity. Please

the appropriate accessory.
