Taipei, Taiwan – July 2010 – Advantech is proud to announce it has received an award for innovation from Mesures magazine, a Paris-based monthly that reports on instrumentation and industrial automation. In its 15th annual Palmares Technologique awards, Mesures highlighted Advantech’s PEC-3240 with integrated axis control. Every year, the Mesures editors identify the top products featured in the publication, with an emphasis on innovative new products, and noted that the Advantech PEC-3240 integrates many new features, supporting an axis card and digital I/O card, which makes it ideal for machine builders.

“And specifically for the Photovoltaic market industry”, said Jean-Luc ASTIER, eAutomation Key Account Manager at Advantech France. “This fanless IPC can control the position of the PV panels depending on the sun position, assuming the highest current generation and moving the system helped by light sensors”.

Other embedded IPCs on the market can drive motion controllers, but the PEC-3240 can control complex applications: 4-axis can be driven simultaneously and independently, with the possibility to interact several axis (linear on 2 or 3 axis, or circular interpolation on 2 axis). It can also manage different profiles of acceleration and deceleration (T-Curve, or S-Curve) and different drive modes (pulses CW/CCW or pulse/direction mode). The supplied moving control libraries, adapted to different development tools (Visual Basic, Visual C, .NET, Labview) can help engineers develop custom applications.
