Introducing Advantech's New
LogixView Development Software

Taipei, Taiwan - January, 2008 - Advantech's Industrial Automation Group proudly launches a groundbreaking new development software, LogixView. Designed around a very user-friendly GUI, LogixView revolutionizes the process of programming by introducing an intuitive Windows-like drag-and-drop interface. Based on Microsoft .NET technology, developed on Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, and fully supporting the entire ADAM.NET class library, LogixView supports diverse functionality for working on Advantech modules. In the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) market, LogixView is the first GUI-based Human Machine Interface (HMI) development software kit.

LogixView provides a straightforward operating interface rather than traditional and time-consuming DOS-based environment. LogixView is a modern development kit with diverse advantages. First of all, LogixView eliminates the pain of coding standard functionality and reducing work loading for data acquisition. Users can easily learn the software and program customized control devices for such product lines as ADAM, UNO and HMI. Meanwhile, users can simply drag and drop the components into a Visual Studio.NET project and change the properties of the components to make their programs run as demands. In other words, users with LogixView no longer need to write code line by line for data acquisition, but can simply concentrate on programming logic and event handling.

Moreover, LogixView is not only compatible with all ADAM.NET class libraries for accessing ADAM series products, but also provides advanced functionality for users to customize the GUI (graphic user interface). Some of LogixView's functionality includes; displaying analog values in different forms (AdamMeter), turning analog values into trend charts (AdamTrend), modifying different images and strings to indicate ON or OFF status (AdamSwitch), displaying an LED-like number which can be an integer, floating number, or time (AdamNumLed), and the AdamIndicator displays the progress or quantity percentage.

LogixView can be performed on any Microsoft Windows CE platform. At the same time, LogixView supports various protocols, such as Modbus/RTU, Modbus/TCP, ADAM Protocol, and Local IO Modules (for ADAM-5550 Series) and can work well in ADAM, UNO, and HMI products. LogixView is a graphic-based, easy to use and cost-efficient development software kit and is now available to the market.
