Event Report - Advantech’s Experience at the IAS 2010
The Industrial Automation Show (IAS) 2010 was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) in China from November 9th through 13th of this year. As a leading industrial manufacturer and solutions provider, Advantech exhibited a whole series of products as well as applications for the Internet of Things (IoT).
Advantech’s exhibition in IAS 2010 was divided into eight areas, arranged in a way to look like eight pedals of a flower in bloom--a metaphor of Advantech’s flourishing future. These areas included an ADAM product activity area, IoT solutions, IoT star products, Power & Energy, Transportation, Machine Automation, Warehouse & Logistics Automation and an Advantech products showcase, a full exhibition of industrial automation products, technologies and solutions to allow our visitors to have a grip on the development and trends of this industry. Ten senior product managers from Advantech were also on-site providing detailed explanations and exchanging opinions with our visitors.
Two of Advantech’s partners, Automation-X Corporation and thin-client solution provider ACP, also participated to help make Advantech’s showcase a more comprehensive exhibition. The former brought PACs based on Advantech’s APAX series, and the later brought client solutions and products.
During the IAS exhibition, the IoT was a very a hot topic. Advantech showed many IoT applications, including a smart building/home temperature transmission system, water treatment systems, environmental/ facility monitoring control systems, building energy consumption monitoring control systems, oil field monitoring control systems, and more.
Meanwhile, our new product series also drew much attention from people in our industry, such as new industrial workstations, high-performance PACs, high density Modbus/TCP communication adapters, Advantech WebAccess 7.0, IP65 rated Touch panel computers and more. During the five day exhibition, Advantech received interviews from several media institutes, answering questions about many industrial automation products and applications.
To further impress and delight our guests, games for fun were provided at our booths with gifts given to participants. An experience area was also set up to allow visitors to practically realize what the IoT is, and could be. |
