Advantech Launches the Next Generation of Motion Controllers – PCI-1245/1245E

The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech has launched the next generation of motion controllers. The PCI-1245/1245E, have integrated Advantech SoftMotion technology inside a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and produce high performance synchronization control within multiple axis for PC-based system integrators.

The PCI-1245 and1245E are designed to perform a variety of motion trajectory controls and integration with machine vision for AOI (Automatic Optics Inspection) machines. For example, the CAM functions of wire-winding machines; the synchronization and control of the gear functions on printing presses; high-speed on-the-fly area/line-scan methods of PCB/FPD inspection machines.

Advantech has also released the next generation Common Motion API universal programming library. This universal library will be applied to all Advantech motion control products. By using the Common Motion API, users only need to learn one library and can perform upgrades and integration with minimum engineering. This brand new utility also provides a comprehensive user environment to help system integrators familiarize themselves with the functionality and perform device testing.
