Advantech Introduces 802.11n Wireless Access Point for High-speed Transmissions

Taipei, Taiwan - August, 2010 – Advantech, a leading industrial communication solutions provider, has launched the EKI-6311GN, an IEEE 802.11n IP55 industrial wireless Access Point. Delivering 3x better throughput rates than normal 802.11g, the EKI-6311GN is also fully backward compatible with legacy 802.11b/g frequencies. EKI-6311GN achieves incredible data rates of up to 150Mbps, which allows customers to share high speed internet access with various data and network video surveillance transmissions. EKI-6311GN provides 600mW high output power for long range deployment up to 5km.
EKI-6311GN offers PoE injector to enable a unified supply of data and power through a standard Ethernet cable. It enhances the flexibility in deployment of this AP/ CPE even where the DC power supply is hard to fulfill.
With the support of STP, WMM and IGMP snooping protocols, EKI-6311GN effectively improves the reliability of wireless connectivity, especially in applications that need high reliability and high throughput data transmission. To maximize wireless network security and privacy, EKI-6311GN incorporates 64/128/152-bit WEP data Encryption, WPA, WPA2, 802.1x, which can filter external user and prevent illegal attacking.
The key features are as follows:
- Embedded 8dBi directional antenna with external N-type connector for optional antenna
- Wide operating range: -20 ~ 70° C
- IP55 waterproof certification
- 600mW high output power
- Spanning Tree and IGMP snooping protocol support
