4-axis Stepping Controller Card released by Advantech
Designed
for basic motion control functionality, the new PCI-1243U
is a low-cost stepping motor control card with a universal
PCI interface.
Equipped
with a PCD-4541 motion controller, the card can control 4
stepping motors simultaneously. The output pulse rate can
reach up to 400 kpps, and with a 24-bit step counter for each
axis, it offers precision suitable for most applications.
There are also features like T-curve or S-curve acceleration,
and pulse/direction or CW/CCW output mode.
PCI-1243U
offers 5 switch input channels for each axis in addition to
its eight digital inputs, and eight digital outputs. All DI/O
channels are 1500 VDC isolated, and
the input range is 12~24 VDC.
Although
the price tag is low, PCI-1243U still offers advanced DLL
drivers that can be used to create programs for Microsoft®
Windows®. The user-friendly Motion Manager Utility is
provided for easy configuration and testing. Four built-in
homing types are offered with the DLL driver, so homing movements
can be completed with a single command. For those who prefer
doing their own register-level programming, there are DOS
examples provided as reference.
The Advantech
PCI-1243U motion controller is a cost-effective solution for
integrated stepper applications, offering stepper-only control
at a lower cost. Look for PCI-1243U in early April.
