Compact All-in-One Industrial Chassis with High Performance and Flexibility

Advantech's ATM-4008

Taipei, Taiwan - Advantech has recently released the ATM-4008, which is an all-in-one, half-sized chassis based on the ATM-4233. ATM-4008’s compact size is designed for short CPU cards, and is better suited for half-sized racks and space-limited applications. As with other industrial chassis products from Advantech, the ATM-4008 conveniently combines an LCD display, a keyboard, touch pad, function keys, cursor keys and OSD control in one unit. These space-saving features allow for more cost-effective applications, and make this unit the best choice when there is not enough space for a traditional IPC setup.

ATM-4008 also has powerful computing and high extension capacity. It integrates a video A/D board to ensure CPU card compatibility; including Intel® Pentium® 4, and Pentium III half-sized CPU cards. The chassis has been tested with these processors on Advantech’s PCA-6108P8-0A1 and PCA-6108E-0C1. ATM-4008’s passive backplane offers 8 extension slots that can be used for ISA or PCI cards. There are also two USB ports in front for convenient connections. A reliable power supply is assured, since the ATM-4008 has a redundant ATX-standard power supply. Changing internal parts has also been made easier with a mechanical design which provides easy access through the simple loosening of screws.

The control interface has been a priority in designing ATM-4008, and it is this feature which makes it truly stand out from the competition. For custom macro-instructions, the chassis has been equipped with five macro function keys (F1 to F5) on the left of the LCD. On the right, five cursor keys assist with moving quickly through menus and change settings. An 88-key slim-type keyboard with touch pad is hidden in a pull-out drawer to save space. OSD control is conveniently placed in front to easily alter brightness and contrast. To prevent accidental shutdowns, the reset and power buttons are placed behind a lockable door.
