Advantech's
New PCI-1611U Communication Card Used in Major ODM Project
Advantech
Co., Ltd. announced today the launch of PCI-1611U, a 4-port
RS-422/485 universal PCI communication card with optical
isolation and surge protection. The surge-protected design
shields the system from abrupt high voltages up to 2,500
VDC. Moreover, the PCI-1611U also supports optical isolation
up to 2,000 VDC to improve signal quality and protect the
circuitry of PCs and equipment against damages from ground
loops. With universal PCI connectors for 3.3 V and 5 V signals,
the card can be used in both old and new systems.
PCI-1611U has already been discovered by one of the largest
European manufacturers of automation technology. Combined
with Advantech's AWS-8259TP, the PCI-1611U helped to win
an ODM project for a workstation that will be used in the
car manufacturing industry. Each ODM workstation is equipped
with two to four PCI-1611U communication cards to control
eight to sixteen ports of data.
PCI-1611U
and other PCI Communication cards such as PCI-1612U and
PCI-1620U are all available for Windows® 95/98/2000/NT/ME/XP®
and Linux®, with full driver support. Also, with Advantech's
bundled ICOM Tools, you can test the PCI card's performance
by analyzing the port status, and easily configure the settings
of the card.
PCI-1611U
is now in mass production and is ready to meet customers'
demands for cost-effective RS-422/485 data transmissions.
