ADAM
Web Page Enhancement in ADAM-6000W series
As internet
technologies and standards have rapidly developed over the past
decade, web-based control methodologies now obviously represent
a powerful opportunity for extending efficient network-based management
techniques to encompass non-IT-real-world assets.
The ADAM-6000
series is equipped with a built-in web server so that its data can
be viewed, anytime-anywhere via the internet. Moreover, ADAM-6000
allows users to configure user-defined web pages to meet the diverse
needs in various applications. This is an innovative design to break
the boundary of traditional multi-layer automation architecture
and allow users to access field data directly in real time. But
before, users had to do Java programming to change the design of
the web-page, which was not so convenient for such applications.
In order to
offer more convenience and a more user-friendly operating interface
to users, Advantech has enhanced the web page configuration design.
We redesigned the utility software and firmware, and implemented
it into our new ADAM-6000W wireless I/O modules, ADAM-6050W, ADAM-6051W
and ADAM-6060W. Currently, this web page configuration interface
is packed into the ADAM-6000 utility software.
With the new
utility, users can forget about Java. They just need to key-in the
tag names, description and label words for each channel (please
refer to the below pictures) and then download the web page configuration
into ADAM-6000W module. The user-defined web page can be easily
created in the module.
The new web
page function not only offers an easy-to-use web page configuration,
but also simplifies the file management service. Users can save
the configured file in a computer. If the web page configuration
is lost because of the module is replaced, users can find the original
configuration file from the computer and download it into module
again. The web page is saved in an independent memory segment of
the module, so it won't be lost even if users change the firmware.
By using the
newest embedded web page design, users can really enjoy the benefit
of web-enabled features. The enhanced web page features are embedded
in ADAM-6000W wireless modules (ADAM-6050W/6051W/6060W), and will
be implemented to all of Advantech's web-enabled products such as
the ADAM-6000 series and ADAM-5510/TCP in the near future.
