Customers can have a different LCD display from the cashier. While the cashier uses a touch screen, keyboard, or barcode reader to input sale data, the customer enjoys attractive advertising displays. Hotel and company reception desks also find the dual display feature much to their liking.
Receptionists can view a private display while the customer or visitor peruses relevant tourist or company promotions. In some applications, both screens may be viewed by the customer, while the LAN system takes care of monitoring. For example, some gas station pumps use one display to show current sale and credit card information, while the other display shows focused advertising.

Kiosks have been called the vending machine of the information age. The convenience of kiosk technology helps consumers quickly obtain information they need to make purchase decisions, such as locating products, checking product availability, accessing product information and receiving relevant promotions,
all using web-based technology. This self service channel also allows businesses to reduce their costs of service delivery while improving quality and efficiency. POI kiosks make good use of the dual display capabilities of the PCM-9572 by offering separate, interactive displays to two different users without the expense and space considerations of two entire embedded computing systems. For example, in a mall kiosk, two people can simultaneously access LAN-wide information for very different purposes. One may search for local photo shops, while the other goes online to check out current special promotions. With the right connection, they can both access the Internet.

Besides those applications requiring separate displays for separate audiences, dual display capabilities are well suited for applications that simply demand a lot of display real estate, such as spread sheets and stock market reports. Dual display creates an ideal solution for industries such as energy, entertainment, and defense imaging where added screen real estate is especially important. With dual display, users can intuitively move screen images and windows between the two displays simply by dragging and dropping.
