Taipei, Taiwan, Feb 9th, 2015—Advantech, the global embedded computing leader providing embedded platform solutions across multiple vertical markets, is pleased to announce the release of ARK-5420 and ARK-5261, two fanless embedded box PCs with comprehensive front side I/O interfaces and flexible expansions to deliver a wide range of integration services in the field of machine automation. ARK-5420 utilizes Intel® Core™ i7 processors, performing great capabilities of imaging processing and analyzing. ARK-5261, targeting high C/P ratio product segment is equipped with Celeron™ J1900 Processor (Code name: Baytrail). Both of compact systems fulfill various requirements in terms of high-performance computing and low-power consumption. Due to their distinct system performance, the expansion capabilities of PCI-Express and PCI are designed to carry out versatile applications in four major areas: production automation, vision inspection, process control, and packing automation. In harsh environments, reliable, rugged, fanless box PCs play critical roles when it comes to delivering durability at a low total cost of ownership. In addition, ARK-5420 and ARK-5261 are bundled with SUSIAccess at no extra cost to allow operators/ staff to manage systems remotely. Systems also include McAfee and Acronis for white-list system protection and system recovery, respectively. Therefore, ARK-5000 series offer system integrators and operators a path to high efficiency production as well as process inspection.

High Performance Computing System with Fan/ CF Card Expansion Module
ARK-5420 utilizes 3rdGeneration Intel® Core™ i7 processor with the Intel HM76 chipset, dual channel DDR3 memory supporting 4GB onboard and up to 12GB, two USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports, one PCIe x4 + one PCI expansion slots. We offer a flexible fan expansion module to enhance heat dissipation during operation. In terms of the data storage, a CF-card module is also available for storage expansion, in addition to 1 x 2.5” HDD to store camera images captured during inspection processes and processed for fast quality control in machine automation.

Low Power Consumption System with Solid, Reliable Design
The modern trend toward fanless, compact PC-based automation is set to proceed well into the foreseeable future. ARK-5261 employs the latest Intel® Celeron™ J1900 Processor which serves as a natural successor to existing ARK-5260 systems. Aside from the chipset upgrade, ARK-5261 supports one USB 3.0 and five USB 2.0 ports, plus two PCI + one PCIe x1 expansion slots. It also supports four RS-232/422/485 serial ports with auto-flow control. With regard to expansion modules, there are 32-bit GPIO, 4 x RS-422/485 isolation, 4 x RS-232 or TPM for clients to choose from. Therich, front-side I/O and modularized design meet substantial demands from system integrators/ clients for motion control in production automation, and at minimal cost.
